Mines and Mining Development Deputy Minister Fred Moyo, has commended key technical committees in the Zimbabwe mining sector for conducting structured meetings aimed at improving operations and safety standards.
In a statement posted on his LinkedIn account, Moyo said he was pleased with the ongoing engagements by the sector’s technical arms.
“Very pleased to note that key Zimbabwe Mining Sector technical committees are conducting structured meetings aimed at Process /Productivity as well as Health, Safety and Environment improvements,” Moyo said.
He noted that the months of October and November have witnessed annual meetings of several critical bodies including the Geological Society, Ventilation/Environment, Rock Mechanics/Strata Control and the overarching Mine Managers Association.
Moyo applauded the Chamber of Mines of Zimbabwe for coordinating the meetings.
“Well done Chamber of Mines. May the deliberations be focused and results oriented,” he said.
